Short version: Seeker reads YouTube video metadata to identify content. It does not collect personal data, does not track you, and does not sell anything.
Seeker is a Chrome extension that reads publicly visible metadata from the YouTube page you are viewing (title, channel name, description, hashtags) and sends it to our server to identify the content using AI.
When you use Seeker to identify a video, we receive:
We do not collect your name, email address (unless you provided it when purchasing), IP address, browsing history, or any other personal information.
The video metadata you send is used solely to identify the content (show, movie, podcast, or song) and return a result to you. We do not store video metadata after the request is processed. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Your license key is stored locally on your device in Chrome's extension storage. It is sent to our server with each identification request to verify your subscription status. We store license keys and their usage counts in our database. We do not link license keys to personal identities unless you provided an email at purchase.
Seeker uses the following third-party services to function:
Video metadata is shared with these services only to process your identification request. See their privacy policies at openai.com/privacy and themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.
We do not retain video metadata. License key records (key, plan, usage count) are retained for as long as your subscription is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@your-domain.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
